Miss Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco promotes renewable energy transition

Miss Earth 2017 Karen Ibasco, as an ambassador for R.E.START Renewable Energy Transition, has cited the importance of energy conservation and embracing renewable energy.

Ibasco is also a physicist and WWF Philippine ambassador.

The R.E.START Renewable Energy Transition is an initiative of Oxfam Pilipinas with big partners Greenpeace Philippines, WWF Philippines, Asian Peoples’ Movement on Debt and Development, Institute for Climate and Sustainable Cities, and Philippine Movement for Climate Justice.

Launched this week on Dec. 7 to 11, and will continue throughout the month of December, it also aims to raise awareness on the pressing need for renewable energy transition and energy efficiency practices, especially during this time of the year when climate change and its effects are most felt by the poor and the disenfranchised.
