Filipino mixed martial arts stars have launched a stream-for-a-cause fundraiser to help children and families affected by typhoons "Rolly" and "Ulysses" last month amid the coronavirus pandemic.

Truth x Lakay Gaming, composed of ONE Championship icons Joshua Pacio, Eduard Folayang, Kevin Belingon and Brandon Vera, has joined forces with non-government organization Save the Children to kickstart the fundraiser called "eSave Natin ang Pasko."

"Save the Children's holiday fundraising campaign, eSave Natin ang Pasko offers ways on how we can still make Christmas happy and meaningful," a statement read from its donation site. "eSave Natin ang Pasko so every child can have a nurturing home where they are able to rebuild their lives amid the COVID-19 pandemic and disasters like the recent typhoons Rolly and Ulysses."

The charity stream will last for two weeks as Pacio, Folayang, Belingon and Vera engage with their fans and followers in hit game Mobile Legends: Bang Bang.

A 500-peso donation can provide a child with a Learning Corner Kit that contains learning and hygiene materials while a thousand pesos can help a family with a Family Learning Kit as a way to help their children amid these trying times.

Donors can visit  bit.ly/truthlakaysave for more information and fund transfer can be done through GCash, PayMaya or bank transactions.

As of this writing, on the first day of stream, the fundraiser has collected P510 pesos of their P50,000 target.

Powered by ONE Championship and ONE ESports, Lakay x Gaming is a gaming platform last October that delivers MLBB content through Facebook Gaming.

This wasn't the first time that an athlete initiated a stream-for-cause fundraiser for the typhoon victims as PBA star June Mar Fajardo also kicked off a charity stream for a week last month by playing DOTA2.
