Voter registration resumes on January 4

Voter registration is set to resume on the first Monday of January next year, an official of the Commission on Elections (Comelec) said Wednesday.

In a tweet, Comelec Spokesman James Jimenez said that voter registration will resume on January 4, 2021.

"If you missed the last day of #VoterReg2020, don’t despair just yet. #VoterRegistration will resume January 4, 2021. #MakeAPlanToRegister then. #MagparehistroKa!," Jimenez said in his tweet.

In an advisory two weeks ago, Comelec said that the last day of voter registration for this year was on December 29, Tuesday.

It added that in observance of the holidays, there will be no voter registration on the remaining special (non-working) days and regular holidays of the year.

There will also be no transactions with the public including the issuance of voter's certification, as all offices of Comelec will be closed.
