Stage actor Bobby Tamayo shot dead inside his home

Family and friends are seeking justice after unidentified suspects shot dead stage actor Bobby Tamayo inside his home in Bulacan Wednesday morning, Dec. 30.

The hashtag #JusticeforBobbyTamayo trended on Twitter following social media posts that the thespian was murdered inside his home. Social media posts said Tamayo was shot four times.

Tamayo's friends on social media said that there were no signs of robbery and the CCTV inside his home was covered.

A statement from the Gawad Sining Short Film Festival read: "Murdered early this morning. Four gunshot wounds. No signs of theft. Probably premeditated murder. Bobby Tamayo was a humble and kindly actor despite his accomplishments in the film industry. Enjoy our Savior Jesus' presence, brother Bobby. "

Martin de Vera, voice-over talent, commented on Facebook: "RIP kuya Bobby Tamayo, you were an inspiration to me. I wanted to be an actor and was given the honor to work with you on a student film. You are so generous in sharing what you know, and thank you so much for teaching me acting while I work with you. Because of all your achievements, you are still humble and down to earth. Whatever happened to you, I hope we find justice. This world is too unfair to take someone like you for what they did to you."

One of his current movies was "Bar Boys" where he played father of Rocco Nacino.

On Dec. 27, friends congratulated Tamayo after he was nominated for best supporting actor for the short film "Ang Bahagharing Uhaw sa Ulan" in the Gawad Arts 2020.

"Congrats Bobby Tamayo on the nomination for Best Supporting Actor for Gawad Arts 2020.It's really a different kind, just like being possessed, it's like there's a different personality inside the body, so good. I remember when our scene is intense, all the crew can't talk after your scene, everyone was so surprised with the performance you showed even us behind the camera, we were so annoyed with your character in the movie," said Levilou Corpuz on Facebook.
