Antipolo City gives tax relief to SMEs; Cainta extends deadline for business tax payment

Small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in Antipolo City with gross sales of P200,000 and below in 2020 are exempted from paying business tax and other regulatory fees for 2021.

The office of Mayor Andrea Ynares announced in a post on the city government’s Facebook page that the local government is giving a tax relief for small businesses such as sari-sari (variety) stores, parlors, salons, barbershops, motor repair shops, vulcanizing shops, eateries, bakeries, computer shops, and other similar SMEs with sales not more than P200,000.
The city government said the business tax and regulatory fees of these SMEs are waived but they are required to renew their business permit.
For new business permit applications, the taxes and fees are also waived but the enterprises are required to apply for business permit from the city government.
However, the Antipolo City government clarified that businesses are not exempted from paying barangay clearance fees where the business is located, and the fire regulatory fees imposed by the Bureau of Fire Protection.

In Cainta, the office of Mayor Johnielle Keith Nieto announced on the local government’s official Facebook page that it is extending the deadline for the payment of business taxes and fees without penalty until March 31, 2021.
The local government is encouraging the business tax payers to coordinate with the town’s Business Permit and Licensing Office at telephone number 8-696-2572 before proceeding to the municipal hall as scheduling and queueing is in effect.
