Throughout the country, quarantines are still in place as cities try to contain the virus. Most parents are afraid to let their kids go outside even for a little while, and no one knows how long it will last.

Recently, there was confusion about whether kids are allowed in malls and other establishments. But all 17 mayors of Metro Manila today voted against the proposal to allow minors inside shopping malls. They followed the recommendations made by health experts, particularly the Philippine Pediatric Society.

There are still, however, some gray areas that need to be clarified regarding which activities kids are permitted to do outside of the homes. So here is a GCQ 101 for kids under 21 years old.

1.Individual outdoor exercises are allowed.
Non-contact sports like outdoor walks, jogging, or running within the neighborhood is allowed provided that minimum health standards such as wearing of masks and social distancing are observed, IATF said.

2.Children are not allowed to get a haircut.
For now, they still can't avail of any salon services—haircut, manicures, or hair color. It is impossible to comply with social distancing protocol in these scenarios, so it is prohibited.

3. Individuals aged 18 to 65 are required to remain in their residences at all times, except when obtaining essential goods and services
Under the present IATF guidelines in GCQ areas, a person below 15 years old and those above 65 years old, those with immunodeficiency, or other health risks, and pregnant women, should not roam freely outside their homes. Quezon City revised its community quarantine age restrictions for residents allowed to step out of their residence to 18 to 65 years old, from the earlier 15 to 65 years old ruling.

4.They are allowed to visit their doctors.
Having an online consultation with your trusted pediatrician is the best option, especially if your child has mild symptoms. Most doctors and clinics now have this option as the initial screening tool, since virtual consultations have its own limitations. But if the purpose of leaving the house is for medical or emergency services, it is permitted. They must be, however, accompanied by a parent or adult guardian.
