Korean singer Lee Chan-won diagnosed with COVID-19 after Everglow, UP10TION

Korean trot singer Lee Chan-won tested positive for coronavirus disease (COVID-19) on Dec. 3, becoming the sixth singer who have been publicly reported to catch the virus.
Lee Chan-won’s management made the announcement on the singer’s official fan cafe, saying that the 24-year-old singer’s test results came out early morning on Dec. 3. He is now in self-isolation and is following guidelines set by health authorities.
He became popular after winning third place on the Korean TV show “Mr. Trot,” which ran from January to March this year. With his diagnosis, all the activities of the top six winners of “Mr. Trot” have been stopped and the other five are expected to undergo testing and self-quarantine.
Lee Chan-won is currently appearing on the TV shows “Ppong School” and “Romantic Call Centre” and people who have direct contact with him including singers and staff are also expected to be tested for COVID-19.
He is the sixth Korean singer to be publicly reported to have COVID-19. In April, K-pop boy band Supernova’s leader Yoonhak tested positive for the disease. He returned to Korea from Japan on March 24 and showed symptoms on March 27. After getting tested on March 31, he was confirmed to have COVID-19 on April 1.
Last Nov. 30, agency TOP Media announced that K-pop boy band UP10TION member Bitto was diagnosed with COVID-19 followed by fellow member Kogyeol.
K-pop girl group Everglow members Yiren and Sihyeon were also diagnosed to have COVID-19, according to their agency, Yuehua Entertainment. Yiren was the first to test positive for the virus followed by Sihyeon.
Everglow performed and recorded an episode for Korean TV music show “Yoo Hee-yeol's Sketchbook” on Nov. 24 and after the confirmation, all the other singers on the show were tested. Singers Gummy, Teen Top, Kim Hyeon-cheol and Joo Hyun-mi all tested negative for COVID-19.
