Two security guards kill fellow guard

Two security guards were arrested after allegedly killing another security guard in Malabon City Sunday evening.

The Malabon City Police Station arrested Edward Pahila, 43, and Rey Anthony Sabanal, 38, after reportedly shooting dead Yasser Ampuan, 21.

Police said the incident happened at an establishment in Barangay Panghulo at around 7:40 p.m.

The killing happened after the suspects (who both came from the same security agency) were approached by the victim and three other companions (who came from another agency) to tell that they would assign their own duty guard near the suspects’ post.

“However, upon approaching, the suspects suddenly fired warning shots and subsequently fired towards their position,” the police report said.

Pahila and Sabanal both shot Ampuan, who died on the spot after sustaining two gunshots.

Police recovered the service firearms of the security officer as evidence for the murder charges against them.
