The OVP aired a special edition of Vice President Leni Robredo’s radio show, the last episode for the year, to give thanks to its partners.

Robredo’s spokesperson Barry Gutierrez looked back on how they worked together the past months in response to the COVID-19 pandemic as effectively as they can.

“Gusto naming ipaabot ang aming taos-pusong pasasalamat sa lahat ng ating mga kababayan na nakikiisa sa atin ngayong taon,” Gutierrez said in a video uploaded on Robredo’s official Facebook page.

(We want to extend our heartfelt gratitude to all of our countrymen who joined us this year)

“Lahat ng nagawa namin nitong nagdaang taon ay naging posible dahil sa tiwala, inspirasyon, at tulong ninyo,” he added.

(Everything we have done in the past year became possible because of your trust, inspiration, and help)

Given its limited budget and mandate, Robredo’s office has been relying on its partnerships with the private sector in helping affected Filipinos since the onset of the virus outbreak in March.

The OVP mobilized itself with the donations from partners to assist medical frontliners in their needs from personal protective equipment to food and care packages.

Robredo’s office had received P61.9 million in total donations coursed through the online fund drive it launched with non-government organization Kaya Natin! Movement.

The funds were used to provide 321,488 PPEs sets, some locally produced, to 21,432 frontliners.

Apart from medical supplies, the OVP and its partners have also provided free shuttle service and dormitories for health workers in Cebu and Manila, and livelihood to market vendors and tricycle drivers through the Community Mart, an app-based delivery service.

Gutierrez also cited other OVP initiatives like the free job matching platform Sikap.PH to help those Filipinos who lost their jobs due the pandemic and the Iskaparate.com, where products of small entrepreneurs are promoted.
