Netflix announces season 2 for 'Alice in Borderland'


Netflix has announced a second season for the hit Japanese series "Alice in Borderland."

The eight-episode series follows the story of Ryohei Arisu (played by Kento Yamazaki), a dissatisfied unemployed young man who follows a mysterious light source and finds that everybody has disappeared except for him and his two friends. 

Arisu and his friends are forced to take part in a survival game with their lives at stake.

The adaptation is based on a popular sci-fi thriller manga of the same name. It first premiered on Netflix on December 10.

"Alice in Borderland" made it to the Top 10 watches in the Philippines, Malaysia, Hongkong, Singapore, Taiwan, Thailand, Vietnam, Germany, France, Portugal, Austria, and Greece.

The second season's release date is yet to be announced.
