'Fan Girl' sweeps virtual 2020 MMFF Awards with nine wins

"Fan Girl," a story of an obsessed teenage girl who spent an unforgettable night with her idol, won Best Picture at the virtual 2020 Metro Manila Film Festival Awards ceremonies on Dec. 27.

Paulo Avelino and Charlie Dizon were named Best Actor and Best Actress, respectively, for the same film.

Dizon beat topnotch actress nominees, including Nora Aunor and Sylvia Sanchez, for the acting trophy.

"Fan Girl" also won Best Director (Antoinette Jadaone), Best Screenplay, Best Editing, Best Cinematography, and Best Sound. It also received 3rd Best Float award.
