For Kapamilya young actor Edward Barber, Christmas 2020 is more meaningful and “extra special” despite being a “tough year” after losing a beloved and being away from the two most important men in his life.

Admired by his fans, not only for his good looks but also for his remarkable insights, Edward said this year’s Christmas is extra special since it’s the year 2020, which has been a “great equalizer”.

“Everyone, rich or poor, whatever is your status in life, (we) experienced the same thing, with work, with family, with Covid, and everything” with the trials, the special day is “hundred times” more meaningful in “appreciating what we have, appreciating the people around us”, the family and all the blessings, he said.

Giving his holiday message to PBB Connect, Kuya’s 2016 Big 4th placer, explained: “It’s been a tough year but this is a season of hope… joy and peace that we deserve, that’s why it (Christmas) means more”.

His words of “appreciating the people around us” bore more significance since he lost his grandmother last December 21.

In his IG post dated December 26 (the day of her interment), Edward bid her farewell saying: “Your smile will always be the highlight of my 2020… Love you, Auntie – Always and forever.”

The two most influential men in Edward’s life are likewise separated from the family this yuletide season due to travel restrictions brought about by the global health crisis. His father Kevin is alone in Germany while his nonagenarian grandfather Harry is in England.

Fans of the young actor and Maymay Entrata are excited to see them in their latest film offering Princess DayaReese to be shown this January 1.
