The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) echoed on Thursday the appeal of the Council for the Welfare of Children for the public to stop the condemnation and cyber-bullying of the 13-year-old daughter of Police Senior Master Sergeant Jonel Nuezca.

The Council is an attached agency of the DSWD, which is the lead agency in social protection.
The Department said in a statement that it would put premium on the best interest of the child, including her protection from any form of abuse.
"The child will undergo psychosocial processing support or psychosocial first aid to help her recover from the trauma," the DSWD said.
Nuezca last Sunday shot and killed his neighbors Sonya Gregorio, 52, and Frank Anthony Gregorio, 25, over a petty argument. In the viral video of the confrontation, Nuezca's young daughter was seen standing just a few feet away from him, up to the point that he killed both mother and son.
"DSWD, in coordination with the concerned LGU, has facilitated the provision of psychosocial intervention to the child at the Tarlac Provincial Hospital by a resident psychologist," the same statement read.
"The Department will provide all assistance within its mandate to ensure that the rights of the child are upheld at all times," it added.
Meanwhile, the DSWD has also provided the Gregorio family in Paniqui, Tarlac with a P20,000 financial aid, along with food packs.
"The FO (field office) will also assess Mr. Florentino Gregorio, husband of Sonya, for the provision of medical assistance. Likewise, DSWD FO III will also provide psychosocial debriefing to members of the Gregorio family to help them cope with the trauma brought by the unfortunate incident," the agency said.
