PAL suspends Mla-London flights

Philippine Airlines (PAL) is suspending its flights from Manila to London effective tomorrow (December 24) until the end of February, 2021 now that a super strain of COVID-19 threatens to put the United Kingdom under a third lockdown.

The Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) has restricted inbound travel from the United Kingdom effective December 24 to December 31, 2020.

Before this latest IATF Resolution, PAL has been serving the Manila - London - Manila route once a week.

Passengers of these cancelled flights may rebook on the next available flights with rebooking service fees waives.

They may also refund the cost of their ticket with refunding service fees waived.

A third available option is the conversion of the PAL ticket into a Travel Voucher for future use.

"We are monitoring the situation in the UK. As we keep a close watch on this evolving situation, it is in the best interest of all to suspend flights on the route," according to the PAL statement issued today (Dec. 23).

A super strain of COVID-19 is now spreading in the UK and  the country can possibly go into a third lockdown by New Year.

PAL promised to make appropriate announcements will be made as developments unfold.

PAL supports all measures that seeks to curb any potential increase in COVID-19 cases during the holiday season and beyond.
