Mar Diano, Dennis Villanueva join Thai football league

Mar Diano and Dennis Villanueva continued the trend of Filipino footballers plying their trade in Thailand after joining different clubs this week.

Diano is joining former Azkals Development Team teammate Jarvey Gayoso at Muangthong United while Villanueva became the latest player to leave Philippines Football League champion United City after joining Nakhon Ratchasima.

Both Muangthong and Nakhon Ratchasima are part of the Thai League 1, the country’s top-tier domestic league.

The transfer of Diano came after an impressive showing not only for ADT in the recent PFL but also for the national U-22 team in last year’s Southeast Asian Games.

Villanueva was part of the United City side that won the shortened PFL season held in Carmona, Cavite.

He is the third UCFC player to go overseas after OJ Porteria for Ratchaburi also in Thailand and Mike Ott for Melaka in Malaysia.
