Tarlac shooting triggers trauma for Vice Ganda

"It's Showtime" host Vice Ganda said he was shocked and saddened upon hearing the news that a policeman shot dead two civilians in a series of tweets on Monday, Dec. 21.

"Natulala ako matapo ko mapanuod (y)ung video. Bumalik yung trauma ko. Bumalik lahat ng pilit ko ng ibinabaon sa alaala. (Y)ung putok ng baril. (Y)ung itsura nung tatay ko na parang baboy na sinasakay sa jeep. (Y)ung mukha ng demonyo. Ang bigat ng nararamdaman ko," Vice Ganda initially tweeted. 

An hour later, Vice Ganda posted with a  call for justice over the killing of the two civilians.

"Sana'y wag silang magaya sa Tatay ko na di nabigyan ng hustisya. Sana'y wag silang magaya sa pamilya namin na namanhid na l(a)ng sa tagal ng paghihintay ng katarungan. Sana wala ng makaranas ng kasamaang ito," he said. Vice also included the hashtags: #JusticeforSonyaGregorio #JusticeforFrankGregorio #StopTheKillingsPH

Back in 1991 Vice witnessed the killing of his father, while he and his family was on their way to attend the mass.

Vice shared the horrible experience when he appeared in"Magandang Buhay" in 2016.

"Magsisimba ang buong pamilya ko dahil sa relihiyosa ang nanay ko. Nakabihis na sila; ako ay nasa loob pa ng bahay. Tapos 'yung tatay ko nasa labas ng bahay naka-istambay. Tapos may tumatakbo, nagkakagulo na naman. Paglabas nila, ayun na, binabaril na 'yung tatay ko," he recalled. 

To this day, the gunman remains at large.
