If you’re living the life of an influencer (or an aspiring one), having friends or even photographer peers to collaborate and take photos is an advantage. They're the ones who know how natural lighting and picturesque backgrounds—city buildings, cafes, and streets—help perfect the composition of your photos.

But since the pandemic is restricting us from doing what we’re used to, like meeting up and exploring places to shoot, we’re then left with shooting content with minimal help or no help at all. With pre-shoot set ups including props, camera remote, set moods to post production of narrowing down choices, editing, and “perish the thought” reshooting, it becomes quite a task to capture that perfect shot.

We have been in quarantine for the longest time and even the most creative of us lose our juices when it comes to photo shoot ideas.

To aid in this department, several influencers share DIY ideas of how they do their shoots at home or while out and about with proper social distancing. Here are Brittany Xavier, sharing her home shoot for the Chanel show; Camila Coelho, setting up her photo shoot in her backyard haven; and Chiara Ferragni showing behind-the-scenes of how to get that perfect windblown hair trick for the camera. Keri Fey and Veronika Molnar also join the fun in featuring their influencer tricks.

From setting up her fabric background, front row seat, bouquet of flowers, and her glorious Chanel ensemble, Xavier looks like she’s actually attending the fashion show in person. Holding the Chanel invitation on hand even makes it more believable.

Only professionals know this and now Chiara Feragni is sharing how to achieve the perfect windblown hair trick for photo shoots. If you think electric fans do the trick, get ready for a step up with Ferragni's weapon of choice: blow dryers. She exposes how blow dryers make a better job in hair choreography.

With the help of minimal accessories, nude coordinates, a full-length mirror, light blanket, cooperation of sun and wind, and warm-toned post processing, Coelho’s backyard shoot looks like photographs worthy of a magazine center spread.

Confident, resourceful, and not fussy, these are some of the traits influencers must possess if they really want to get the shot. Take it from Fey who has no fuss changing on the streets on New York City while rearranging the table sets to get that perfect fall vibe on camera.

Molnar knows how lighting plays a major part in the composition of photos and videos. She makes good use of natural light, ring light, and a soft box. She also knows how to utilize the space she has for strategizing where to put the tripod for her filming device and her full length mirror for selfies.
