Tacloban health workers to receive P8,000 each in COVID-19 pay
TACLOBAN CITY - The Sangguniang Panlungsod here has passed a resolution, granting Active Hazard Duty Pay (AHDP) and coronavirus disease (COVID-19) Special Risk Allowance (SRA) to public health workers directly catering to or in contact with COVID-19 patients during the state of a health emergency.Â
Vice Mayor Jerry Yaokasin said they have passed the resolution, granting authority to City Mayor Alfred Romualdez to enter into a memorandum of agreement with the Department of Health (DOH)-Eastern Visayas Center for Health Development for the grant of the allowance.
The total grant will be P13,818,080.45 that will benefit around 1,700 health workers in the city.
It will be charged against the maintenance and other operating expenses quick response fund of DOH-EV.
This will cover the foour-month payment of AHDP and COVID-19 SRA reckoned from September 15 to December 19 to the city government's eligible health workers.
He added that each healthcare frontliner will receive a total of P8,000 (P 5,000 SRA and P 3,000 AHDP).
The transferred funds must be utilized before December 31 this year.
