Last Thursday, Huang visited the children at the Association de Damas de Filipinas (ADF) and the Missionaries of Charity Home for Abandoned and Neglected Elderly in Manila.

Huang said in the spirit of the holidays, the Chinese Embassy has prepared bags containing food packages and medical supplies that were given to those in need to help them overcome the difficulties they have experienced under the pandemic.

Huang assured that the Chinese Embassy will continue to provide necessary assistance to the Filipino people to strive for an early victory over the pandemic.

Aside from the friendship bags, Huang also gifted the children at the ADF with panda dolls and books.

ADF President Maribeth Florido thanked the Chinese diplomat for the generous and timely donation, which will help the children and the institution tide over the COVID-19 pandemic.

During Huang’s visit, one of the children gave a speech expressing her gratitude for the time and effort that the Chinese Embassy has given in caring for children like them.

Also on Thursday, the Chinese Embassy  donated Friendship Bags and 20 wheelchairs to the Missionaries of Charity Home for Abandoned and Neglected Elderly.

The embassy said both donations are part of their Friendship Bag project which aims to support the Philippines’ efforts in tackling the challenge of COVID-19.
