Pia Wurtzbach denies alleged competition with Catriona Gray
Are Pia wurtzbach and Catriona Gray trying to outdo each other? Not where Pia is concerned.
The 2015 Miss Universe vehemently denied talks pertaining to the issue in an interview with Gulf News.

Pia even insisted being among Catriona's supporters even back when she was competing for the Miss Universe crown in 2018.
"I was actually like, almost in the front row. It's so nice to see it from the audience's point of view because I've been there as a contestant, I've been there as a judge, but it was my first time to be there as an audience member where I'm literally there just to experience it. I don't have any responsibility to judge the girls, to write anything down, to be too critical. I'm just there to enjoy," she said.
"People would say to me before, 'Oh she's threatened because, you know, Â she doesn't want another Filipina from the Philippines to win.' But once you're there, like, all of that goes out of the window because you just wanna raise the flag," she added.
Pia continued, "Everybody's so happy. How can you be, like, the bitter one, right? Why would you wanna ruin the party?"
Recall that Pia received bashing when Dubai-based luxury magazine Xpedition recognized her as Woman of the Year.

She was also compared to Catriona who was said to be "always helping" amid the pandemic.Â
"If you look at my timeline and stories you'll find everything there. I'm always posting but you don't notice it because you refuse to see it. Kahit naman nung MU pa ko 5 yrs ago people only focused on who I was dating rather than what I was doing. It's true. I did so much advocacy work as MU and people just don't see that. They're more interested in knowing my diet or who I'm seeing. But God knows I really tried hard and never expecting to get anything from it. Gusto ko lang talaga," she explained.
