Jessy Mendiola opens up on issues surrounding her engagement ring

Taking effort to clear the air concerning her now much-talked about engagement ring, which has eclipsed news about Luis Manzano finally proposing to her after four years, Jessy Mendiola did what many of her ilk do in cases like this: vlog.

In there, she waxed emotional discussing all the issues about the darned ring, revealing the reason why they eventually decided to have it reset.

"While Radiant Lux Jewelry is claiming that they were the original creators of the ring, the jeweler of the said jewelry shop broke client privilege by telling me about the ring way before Luis got the chance to propose, ruining what was supposed to be one of the greatest surprises in my life," she wrote on the description box.

According to Jessy, Luis bought the ring and paid for it in full and is, by right, the owner of the diamond, which means he can choose to do whatever he wants to do with it.

"Manila Diamond Studio was kind enough to help us by having the ring reset to erase unfortunate memories and start anew. I also included a photo of the old design and new design in this vlog," she shared.

Jessy reiterated that they do not see anything wrong with having it reset because it is their right.

"On the other hand, claiming that the ring design is yours even if it is OBVIOUSLY already a completely different design is misleading. It is heartbreaking that there are people like this who would go extra lengths to destroy other people’s happiness. We chose to keep quiet about this but now that they won’t stop posting about it, we want people to hear our side."

Recall that last Dec. 13, a day after Jessy and Luis made public their engagement, Radiant Jewelry published a statement, saying how "unfortunate" it is that a company would "insinuate" doing work for something they did not do.

"We are the original creators of the engagement ring of Jessy Mendiola and Luis Manzano," they declared.

"In our opinion, taking credit for something they did not do is detrimental to the industry that has ring makers who put their heart and soul to their pieces. Such a post or announcement is very misleading and unethical," they added, along with the video of a woman showing the ring to Luis.

According to Jessy, she and Luis broke up last May but during their split, her "friend" who was from Radiant Jewelry, showed her the ring.

"Can you imagine the feeling ng isang babae na hindi kayo ayos ng boyfriend mo? Like What could have been if okay kami, nag-propose kaya siya?"

She added it's the main reason why they had it reset.

"I do not want to have to do anything with the ring," she said.

Jessy noted how sad it was for her to know about the ring way before Luis got the chance to propose to her.

"Nawala sa amin 'yung feeling ng excitement. Luluhod 'yung lalaki sa harap mo, kinakabahan. Hindi niya alam anong sasabihin sayo, tapos tatanungin ka niya ng 'Will you marry me?' Nawala sa amin 'yun," she pointed out.

But then, she noted that they have chosen to move on from the issue.

She revealed that it was two months ago when Luis asked her hand in a "simple, heartfelt, and genuine" proposal.

And the photos from Amanpulo?

Jessy noted it's a re-enactment. In short, for public consumption.

Anyway, as of this writing, Radiant Jewelry has not yet released any statement relating to Jessy's claims.
