POEA now accepting Filipino caretaker applicants for Japan

Filipino caretakers who are interested to work in Japan may now apply as the government hiring facility of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) is now accepting applications to fill up 300 positions needed.

POEA said that male and female caretakers or “Kaigofukushishi” are needed by the Japan International Corporation of Welfare Services (JICWELS).
  
The deadline of submission of applications from POEA Regional Offices is on Tuesday, Dec. 15, and on Friday, Dec. 18, 2020 for the applicants at the POEA main office in Mandaluyong City.  
  
POEA said that the interested applicants must have a bachelor’s degree in Nursing (with or without license) or graduate of four-year course but with TESDA National Certificate II in caregiving.
  
“All candidates are required to undergo 12 months of intensive Japanese Language Training before working, six months of which will be for intensive Preparatory Japanese Language Training in the Philippines, and the other six months for intensive Japanese Language Training in Japan,” POEA said.
 
POEA explained that applicants with Japanese Language Proficiency Training Certificate (JLPT N4) will be exempted in the JLPT in the Philippines “but are expected to acquire JLPT N5 level upon completion of the language training.”
 
Likewise, those applicants with JLPT N3 or N2 or have experience in studying the Japanese language in Japanese Language Training Institution designated by the Ministry of Justice in Japan “will be exempted in the JLPT both in the Philippines and Japan.”
  
To apply, qualified candidates first need to register online at http://onlineservices.poea.gov.ph/OnlineServices/POEAOnline.aspx and personally submit the necessary documents at the Manpower Registry Division, Ground Floor, Blas F. Ople Bldg. (formerly POEA Bldg.), Ortigas Avenue corner EDSA, Mandaluyong City on their respective schedule of appointment.
  
The necessary requirements for submission include detailed resumé with one (1) piece 2x2 recent picture and clear photocopies of transcript of records, college diploma, updated Certificate of Employment (if applicable), Japanese Language Training Certificate (if available), Valid TESDA NCII Certificate in Caregiving (if not BS Nursing Graduate), - valid passport (6 months from the date of scheduled departure), valid NBI Clearance (multi-purpose), PEOS Certificate (available at  and printed copy of Worker’s Information Sheet/E-Registration (log-in at http://onlineservices.poea.gov.ph/OnlineServices/POEAOnline.aspx). 
  
POEA reminded that all documents must be fastened in a folder labeled with RSF No. 200010, Applicant’s Name, Position Applied For, Country of Destination, E-Registration Number.
  
“All are required to present their original documents for authentication of written information before forwarding the resume to the employer,” POEA said.
 
However, POEA clarified that applicants with previous record of entry in Japan either as candidates for “Kangoshi” and “Kaigofukushishi” under the Economic Partnership Agreement or technical Internship Trainee are “disqualified from applying for the job.”
