Wally Bayola recalls sharing food with Paolo Ballesteros not knowing he already has COVID-19

Comedian Wally Bayola has revealed that he had COVID-19 some time ago. And he noted it was a result of being "too complacent."
During the recent episode of "Eat Bulaga's" "Bawal Judgmental," Wally recalled how he was able to get the virus.
“Relax-relax lang. Masyado ako naging paniwalain sa social media na ay wala namang COVID, ’di naman totoong may COVID… Parang nadala ako so hindi na ako nag-mask. Napagod na ako mag-mask, napagod na ako mag-face shield,” he shared.
In fact, he recalled how he would even remove his face mask when fans requested for a photo.
“Na-relax ako. Hindi ako nag-iingat. Naging mentalidad ko na walang COVID,” he admitted.
Wally remembered that some days before he took a test, he even ate and shared foods with co-host Paolo Ballesteros.
Later he already lost his voice as Paolo teased him of having COVID-19. This prompted Wally to took a swab test.
True enough the result proved that he's positive for the virus. Wally passed out when he got the results.
“Hindi ko na maintindihan parang wala naman ako nararamdaman. Wala naman akong lagnat, wala akong ubo," he explained.
However, he decided to confine himself in a hospital as his oxygen level kept on decreasing.
Though he didn't get symptoms like losing his sense of smell or taste, Wally recalled that he had continuous hiccups for two days.
He admitted that while he was at the hospital, alone and with no means of connection, he couldn't help but felt emotional.
Even so, he was thankful for all the blessings. But he got worried for his mom who just lost his stepfather not so long ago.
Wally felt disappointed, that if he would pass away, he won't be able to fulfill his promise to his mom -- that he will take good care of her. Wally survived the virus.
Wally reminded the public to practice precautions all the time.
“’Wag niyo po ilagay sa isip niyo na walang pandemya kasi meron po. Naramdaman ko meron pong COVID virus. Wag tayo maging relax. Nangyari po sa'kin… Nagpabaya ako. 'Wag kayo magpabaya."
