'Aerial Voyager' Meneses tests positive for COVID-19

Vergel Meneses has tested positive for COVID-19, the PBA great and politician announced on Saturday.

In a Facebook video post, the 51-year-old retired basketball player said he may have contracted the deadly virus while serving as municipal mayor of Bulakan, Bulacan.

Meneses said he underwent RT-PCR test that yielded a positive result last Thursday. He is currently asymptomatic.

Meneses said he is in self-quarantine where he can still fulfil his duties for his city, while still adhering to safety protocols. He has also closed their office for disinfection and will open on Monday, but assured that he can still be contacted for urgent help.

They have also been doing contact tracing

The former men’s basketball coach of Jose Rizal University advised the public to continue following health protocols to prevent the spread of the virus.

“Sa Kabila ng pagiging sports enthusiasts at di pagpapabaya sa pag-eehersisyo at prebensyon, dumapo pa rin sa akin ang sakit na ito,” Meneses said.

He, however, assured the people of Bulakan that he would continue the projects they have lined up especially with the upcoming holiday season.
