FAMOUS: Gem Castillo, former 'That's Entertainment' star, is San Pablo's Tiangge Queen

Gem Castillo is the Queen of Tiangge in her hometown of San Pablo, Laguna. 

During our visit and exclusive interview, the former “That's Entertainment” Wednesday Group member said that she is now busy as a housewife and a business owner operating tiangge stalls in time for the holidays.

“Masaya mag operate ng tiangge dito sa Paseo de San Pablo, Kuya Jeff. Nakakatulong tayo magbigay ng livelihood sa mga kababayan natin dito sa San Pablo, P250 a day lang ang rent nila sa stall nila kaya mura lang din ang benta nila sa items nila at madali mabawi ang pinuhunan nila,” Gem said.

The former teen star revealed trivial stories during her showbiz years

“Andami ko natutunan sa showbiz. Nandyan siyempre yung puyatan, yung hindi kami nabayaran ng buo, yung ang lamig lamig sa dagat pero kailangan mo mag-acting na nalulunod pero syempre yung disiplina at pakikisama yun ang importante,” she said.

Because of the success in the Paseo de San Pablo project, Gem said that she plans to make the tiangge stalls permanent the whole year.

"We are trying to analyze the so-called 'new normal' to give a fresh element of giving news. I am grateful to Puregold and Vincent Co for providing this platform where we are free to explore and experiment, “ Boy said.
 
"Sabado Bago Live" is conceptualized as a means to provide quality, topnotch entertainment to millions of Filipino families staying at home because of the pandemic. This weekly talk show is designed specifically for the viewing pleasure of Puregold’s loyal online supporters that is currently close to an accumulated 3 million followers across such platforms as Facebook, Twitter, Instagram, and YouTube.
