Family opens April 'Boy' Regino's wake to public

The family of Jukebox Idol April "Boy" Regino announced that they have opened the musician's wake to the public at IDOLSTAR 160 M. H. Del Pilar St. Kalumpang in Marikina City.

"Ang naging cause of death ni April Boy nagkaroon siya ng chronic disease stage 5, last stage. So acute respiratory failure," said Madel during an interview on ABS-CBN .

Madel said that April Boy was supposed to undergo dialysis the day he passed away. "Kung nasunod 'yung schedule buhay pa sana siya."

April Boy had different health complications like prostate cancer in 2009. Five years later, he suffered from a serious heart condition. The following year, he was diagnosed with diabetic retinopathy that caused him to lose his left eyesight.

His son JC revealed that before his father's death, he'd been planning to do a program that could help persons with disabilities (PWDs). "Kahit may sakit pa din siya gusto pa rin niyang makatulong."
