DAVAO CITY - The Department of Health (DOH) Davao Center for Health Development reported 55 new cases of COVID-19 and two deaths in the region as the month of November ended onMonday. Â
"Of these new cases, 47 are from Davao City, and four each from Davao del Norte and Davao Oriental. All of these cases are local cases," the DOH said in its Regional Situation Update on COVID-19.
Davao region recorded a total of 9,250 total cases with 2,755 active cases, 6,142 recoveries, and 353 fatalities.
On Sunday, November 29, the youngest case recorded was a three-month-old boy from Barangay Catalunan Pequeño in Davao City. He was among the 13 cases in the same barangay who were exposed to a confirmed case or cases. It was not shown in the records if the 13 people were related.
Davao City also recorded two new fatalities and 57 recoveries on Monday. The DOH said that among the recoveries, 43 were from Davao City, eight from Davao del Sur, three from Davao de Oro, two from Davao Oriental, and one from Davao del Norte.
The youngest patients who recovered last Sunday were two four-year-old girls from Barangay Libay-Libay in Maco town, Davao de Oro province. The two were both exposed to a confirmed case.
Davao City and Davao del Norte will be placed under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) until the end of the year as announced by President Rodrigo Duterte on Monday, together with the National Capital Region, Batangas, Iloilo City, Tacloban City, Lanao del Sur, and Iligan City.
