Aiza ‘Ice” Seguerra dedicates post and love for singing to his late father

It has been two weeks since Aiza “Ice” Seguerra’s father Decoroso passed away. His latest post shows how much he misses his dad, “Iba pala talaga yung tama kapag gabi na. Tahimik na lahat at ikaw na lang ang gising. Maaalala mo na naman lahat.”

He credits his mother for teaching him how to sing, but it was his “erpats” (father) who nurtured his love for singing. From playing the guitar, to singing via multiplex tapes, even videoke, they were both known to not let go of the microphones. He added, “Sa cellphone niya, makikita mo dun lahat ng numero na kailangan pindutin para sa mga favorite songs niya.

He also refers to his dad as “Pogi,” sharing that even if his dad was bedridden then, and even if signal was bad in their condominium unit, they would sing their favorite karaoke songs via YouTube. “Tapos dinala ko yung karaoke machine namin tsaka yung wireless mic, ayun, sayang saya. Buti di nagreklamo mga kapibahay.” He also added that even if his dad was very sick, he would still ask Ice to sing and he would try to sing with him, even if it was hard for him to sing already.

“We would sing for him. Ako, mga apo niya, mga bisita. Kahit may sakit siyang nararamdaman, you could see his eyes light up. Pati mga mata niya, nakikikanta,” Ice continues. “Ngayon, tahimik. Nakakabingi. Namimiss ko yung boses mo, Pogi.”
