The salaries of nurses working in the Manila Health Department (MHD) and the six district hospitals in the capital will be increased from Salary Grade 11 to Salary Grade 15 following the signing of a city ordinance.

Manila Mayor Francisco "Isko Moreno" Domagoso on Wednesday signed City Ordinance No. 8700, authorizing the updating of salary grade levels for nurse positions in the city.
Below are the adjustments of the salary grade levels of nurses:
●Nurse I, from SG 11 to SG 15
●Nurse II, from SG 15 to SG 17
●Nurse III, from SG 17 to SG 19
●Nurse IV, from SG 19 to SG 20
●Nurse V, from SG 20 to SG 22
●Nurse VI, from SG 22 to SG 24
Nurse positions in the MHD and the six city government hospitals were also modified as follows:
●From Nurse II with SG 15, to Nurse I with SG 15
●From Nurse III with SG 17, to Nurse II with SG 17
●From Nurse IV with SG 19, to Nurse III with SG 19
●From Nurse V with SG 20, to Nurse IV with SG 20
●From Nurse VI with SG 22, to Nurse V with SG 22
●From Nurse VII with SG 24, to Nurse VI with SG 24
The signing of the ordinance was made pursuant to Republic Act No. 9173 or the Philippine Nursing Act of 2002, and its implementing guidlines under the Department of Budget Management Circular No. 2020-04.
The amount needed for this ordinance will be sourced from available funds under the Fiscal Year 2021 Executive Budget, according to the ordinance.
