K-pop boy band EXO member Chanyeol and girl group Oh My Girl’s Arin will be appearing in the new season of the SBS TV program “Law of the Jungle.”
The new expedition team will go to the disputed Dokdo Island as well as the nearby Ulleungdo Island for the new edition, which will start airing on Dec. 12.
Led by chieftain Kim Byung-man, the other members of the team are Chanyeol, Arin, singer Gary, actress Go Joon-hee, TV personality Julien Kang, comedian Park Mi-sun, comedian Park Soo-hong, Korean cuisine expert Lee Jong-kuk, singer Oh Jong-hyuk and actors Song Jin-woo and Lee Sang-yi.
Chanyeol’s “Law of the Jungle” gig comes after he figured in a controversy in October. He appeared in previous “Law of the Jungle” editions in 2013, 2014 and 2015. “Chanyeol” trended on Twitter after “Law of the Jungle” unveiled the new cast.
On the other hand, Arin is currently one of the hosts of the Korean TV music show “Music Bank.” Oh My Girl recently won a bonsang, or main prize, at the 2020 Melon Music Awards.
The Dokdo edition is special as this will be the first time that a Korean entertainment show has succeeded in underwater exploration of the disputed island.
According to Kim Byung-man, this is the first time that he has visited Dokdo and Ulleungdo and he said when he saw Dokdo, he was lost for words.
In February, the “Law of the Jungle” expedition team explored Palawan in the Philippines. The Palawan feature stretched until June this year.
