ILOILO CITY—Despite a scheduled temporary travel moratorium this holiday season, the borders of Antique province will remain open to returning locally stranded individuals (LSIs) and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

“We have agreed that the travel moratorium will not be implemented. Let us allow them to come home for this year,” said Governor Rhodora Cadiao.
The lady governor was referring to the reversal of the decision of the mayors of 18 towns of the province to temporarily restrict entry of returning LSIs and OFWs.
“It’s OK to go back to Antique this Christmas. Let us thank the mayor ,” said Cadiao.
The 18 town mayors previously asked for a temporary stoppage of allowing returning LSIs and OFWs to give doctors and other frontline workers time to take a break.
“After December 31, we will sit down again and we’ll ask our mayors again if they want to implement a province-wide moratorium,” Cadiao pointed out.
The Antique provincial government is also still abiding by the One Panay policy, which opens its borders to residents and workers coming from Aklan, Capiz, and Iloilo provinces as well as Iloilo City.
But Cadiao is discouraging Antiqueños working and living in Iloilo City from coming back to their hometowns in Antique province. This is as Iloilo City is still under general community quarantine (GCQ) status.
“The best Christmas gift that you can bring to your family here in Antique is the gift of health. Just stay there,” Cadiao urged.
