332 aliens engaged in cyber crimes nabbed

A total of 332 aliens engaged in illegal online gambling, Internet fraud, and other cybercrimes were arrested in Bamban, Tarlac by joint Bureau of Immigration (BI)  and National Bureau of Investigation (NBI) operatives.

BI Commissioner Jaime Morente said they are now under custody of the NBI pending the filing of appropriate charges and deportation.

They were mostly Chinese, Malaysians, and Indonesians who entered the country as tourists and without the necessary work visa.

Morente said the aliens were nabbed at their worksite in an unfinished building in Barangay De la Cruz, a portion of which also served as their dormitories.
