Billboard has released its annual year-end charts and K-pop idol group and Grammy nominee BTS placed in many rankings including bagging the No. 1 spots.
In the overall rankings, BTS grabbed 18th place on the Top Artists for 2020 from 15th in 2019, 8th in 2018 and 10th in 2017.
For the first time, BTS became No. 1 on the overall Top Artists-Duo/Group chart after being in second place on the year-end chart in 2019, 2018 and 2017.
The idol group also placed first on the Social 50 Artists, dominating the year-end chart for the fourth straight year since 2017. They were 34th in 2016.
On Billboard 200 year-end charts, BTS ranked 18th on Billboard 200 Artists while their “Map of the Soul:7” placed 20th and “Love Yourself: Answer” is in 156th place on Billboard 200 Albums. BTS ranked first on Billboard 200 Artists-Duo/Group.
On year-end Hot 100 charts, BTS ranked 42nd on Hot 100 Artists, third on Hot 100 Artists-Duo/Group and “Dynamite” placed 38th on Hot 100 Songs. In addition, BTS’ “Dynamite” is 50th on the On-demand Streaming Songs chart.
BTS grabbed first place on the year-end Digital Song Sales Artists while “Dynamite” ranked first and “ON” is No. 44 on the Digital Song Sales charts.
On the Independent Albums charts, “Map of the Soul: 7” ranked second and “Love Yourself: Answer” placed 13th while BTS is in second place on Independent Artists chart.
BTS also ranked second on Top Album Sales Artists and on Top Album Sales, “Map of the Soul: 7” ranked second, “Map of the Soul: Persona” placed 39th and “Love Yourself: Answer” is 82nd.
On the Top Current Album Sales, “Map of the Soul: 7” is third, “Map of the Soul: Persona” ranked 36th, “Map of the Soul: 7-The Journey” is 81st, “BTS World’ placed 106th and “Love Yourself: Answer” is 167th.
“Map of the Soul: 7” also ranked second on Tastemakers Albums chart and “Dynamite” is 45th on Pop Songs.
BTS also topped the year-end World Albums Artists and grabbed seven places on World Albums: “Map of the Soul: 7,” No. 1; “Love Yourself: Answer,” No. 2; “Map of the Soul: Persona,” No. 6; “Map of the Soul: 7-The Journey,” No. 9; “Love Yourself: Tear,” No. 10; “BTS World,” No. 13; and “You Never Walk Alone,” No. 14.
“Dynamite” ranked 73rd on Canadian Hot 100 and 27th on Hot Canadian Digital Songs. The song placed 13th on Google’s Top Hummed Songs 2020.
“Billboard’s year-end music recaps represent aggregated metrics for each artist, title, label and music contributor on the weekly charts dated Nov. 23, 2019, through Nov. 14, 2020. The rankings for Nielsen Music/MRC Data-based year-end recaps reflect equivalent album units, airplay, sales or streaming during the weeks that the titles appeared on a respective chart during the tracking year,” according to Billboard.
