Bennett announced his engagement to Vaughan in an Instagram post on Nov. 30. The two have been dating since 2017.

“I said yes! And ugly cried like a crazy person,” the 39-year-old actor wrote on his Instagram.

Bennett also shared that Vaughan made him a song which the latter sang during the proposal.

In an interview with PEOPLE magazine, Bennett described his boyfriend’s proposal song as the “best song” he’s ever heard.

“I’ve always loved his voice, and to hear his voice singing to me was really special. It's hard to describe what it feels like to have a song written about you that is so specific and that reassures all your insecurities,” Bennett said.

The soon-to-be husbands, in the same interview, also shared what they love most about each other.

“I love how he makes me feel. I feel safe and I feel loved when I’m with him… I love how I can be unapologetically myself and I love that he loves me unconditionally for it,” Bennett said.

Vaughan for his part said the actor keeps him on his toes.

“There is literally never a dull moment when Jonathan Bennett is your other half,” he told PEOPLE.

When asked about what type of wedding would they want, Bennett said he wants a ceremony inspired by “something between when Elphaba flies in the musical Wicked and the finale number of The Greatest Showman.”

“Or we could simplify it and I could just come out on a hydraulic stage from under the ground like Elle Woods does in Legally Blonde: The Musical,” he said.
