Captain Danilo Oamil, Makati Police Investigation Unit chief, said they apprehended 10 foreigners (five Chinese, one Malaysian, four Taiwanese) and 11 Filipinos.

Policemen led by Valenzona swooped in and apprehended customers of Cafe Cubana who were having a drinking spree around 1:40 a.m. The restaurant-bar is located on Caceres St. in Barangay Poblacion, Makati.

This was after Makati Police received a complaint from concerned citizens about the crowded bar still operating during curfew hours.

"They were not practicing social distancing and they were still drinking during curfew hours," he said.

Makati Public Safety Department (PSD) personnel issued each of them P2, 000 citation tickets, Valenzona said.

"They were given P1, 000 ticket for curfew violation, and another P1, 000 ticket for not practicing social distancing."

After they were given citation tickets, Valenzona said the violators were released.

"They have to settle their violation tickets at City Hall," he said.

Valenzona urged other establishments in Makati City to strictly follow quarantine protocols and the city's curfew.
