Leni camp urges BBM to face reality that he lost

The camp of Vice President Leni Robredo has urged former Sen. Ferdinand “Bongbong” Marcos Jr. to “face reality” that he lost in the 2016 elections.

Atty. Beng Sardillo and Atty. Emil Marañon, lawyers of Robredo, said Marcos is in his “mind conditioning game” again after asking Supreme Court Associate Justice Marvic Leonen to inhibit from his poll protest.

Robredo’s lawyers said that while they are all for the dismissal of the case, it is “unfortunate” Marcos once again resorts to “attacking” a Supreme Court magistrate.

This, Sardillo and Marañon said, is “similar to what he did when he sought the inhibition” of Associate Justice Alfredo Benjamin Caguioa several years ago.

“We are not surprised,” Robredo’s camp said. “This is another trademark move of Mr. Marcos – if he doesn't get what he wants, he moves to attack the integrity of an institution or a person to force them to give in to his desires,” they added.

Robredo’s lawyers reminded Marcos since it is already 2020, “this is no longer the period of his father’s reign of terror where they can do anything they want.”

Her camp also asked Marcos to “stop acting like a spoiled brat who cries when he doesn’t get his candy” and face the reality that VP Leni “won twice.”

The lawyers lamented that they are already tired of Marcos’ antics.

“Pagod na kami na hanggang ngayon, pagkatapos manalo sa eleksyon at sa recount, patuloy pa rin ang panggugulo at pagsisinungaling ni G. Marcos (We’re tired that until now, after we won in the election and the recount, the harassment and lies of Mr. Marcos continue),” the lawyers added.
