After a one-day hiatus in COVID-19-related cases involving Filipino nationals abroad, the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) on Monday reported 51 new confirmed cases and 44 new recoveries among overseas Filipinos in the Americas, Asia and the Pacific, Europe and the Middle East and Africa.

No new fatality from COVID-19 among overseas Filipinos was recorded.
The total number of COVID-19 infections among overseas Filipinos since the outbreak began in February this year now stands at 11,474.
Of this total, 3,235 are undergoing treatment, 7,411 have recovered and 828 died of coronavirus infections.
Meanwhile, the DFA continues to mount repatriation flights of stranded and distressed Filipino nationals from all the major geographical regions in the world as it managed to bring home 8,591 overseas Filipinos in the first week of November.
The bulk of this week’s repatriates were from the Middle East (6,947), Asia-Pacific (948), and Europe (693). They were flown back to Manila on board 39 special commercial repatriation flights facilitated by the DFA.
The foreign affairs office also completed the medical repatriation of overseas Filipinos from Cuba, Brunei, Pakistan, and Bahrain.
This week’s repatriated nationals include victims of trafficking-in-persons from Damascus, Syria.
To date, the DFA has brought home a total of 245,954 OFs since it began its COVID-related repatriation efforts in February 2020.
