P/$ rate closes at P48.22/$1

The peso closed  higher  at  P48.22 to the US dollar Friday   from  P48.31 the previous day. The weighted  average rate appreciated  to  P48.272  from P48.35. Total volume amounted to $779  million, according to the Bankers Association of the Philippines.
