KZ and TJ share wedding song 'Simula' and what makes it different

Newlyweds Asia's Soul Supreme KZ Tandingan and TJ Monterde shared their thoughts about the wedding song "Simula" which they composed together as a couple.

"Andami na kasing wedding songs na ang palaging pinag-uusapan ay 'finally na hanap na kita moment' yung happy ending pero hindi palagi napag-uusapan sa isang wedding song na sa simula pa lamang ay alam na naming: 'it's gonna be hard'… kaya nagsulat kami ng kanta na magre-remind sa amin na when that time comes aalalahanin natin kung bakit tayo nagsimula, san tayo nagsimula at bakit tayo nagsimula," said KZ during a digital interview recently.

The couple also gave tips to aspiring artists who want to write songs.


TJ said: "Magkwentuhan kayo. Kung marami kayong mapagku-kwentuhan then start niyo nang magsulat, or manuod kayo ng movies na pwede niyong paghugutan ng inspirasyon and be transparent on what you feel about the project dun sa partner mo kasi sabay naman kayong mago-grow together."

"Encourage each other to stay out of your comfort zone kasi now na may partner ka (may asawa ka) merong magpu-push sa'yo… and yung sabi nga ni TJ na try and try writing lang," KZ added.

"That awful song that you wrote today is way better than that beautiful song that you never wrote," TJ said.

Released under Polyeast Records, 'Simula' is one of the three songs included in this wedding EP. Two more songs will be released, one in English and Bisaya. "Simula" is now available in all music streaming platforms.
