KTM unveils new-generation 200 Duke

KTM Philippines brings some highly anticipated updates to one of its top selling models, the 200 Duke. For the 2021 model year, KTM has made the 200 Duke lighter yet packed with better components. It’s built on a fresh new frame, powered by an enhanced and ultra-compact single cylinder engine and meets Euro 4 emission standards.

The most evident change is its new headlight. The 200 Duke retains its defining halogen lamp, but gains LED position lights.

The 200 Duke is motivated by a liquid-cooled 200cc single-cylinder DOHC 4-valve engine. It produces 25.9 PS and is paired with a 6-speed transmission. To meet Euro-4 emissions, KTM has updated its airbox and exhaust. It’s exhust is especially compact, positioned low and near the engine to maintain the low center of gravity. It also gets 12.4 liter fuel tank for more smiles per mile.

Keeping it aloft is a set of WP upside down forks and a monoshock in the rear with 150mm of travel and preload adjustable.

The rider gets a new all-digital LCD display. Besides the standard features, it also includes an RPM alert light for more precise shifting and a service reminder indicator.

Helping the rider manage its power is a new standard ABS system, designed to work more smoothly and less intrusively. KTM says its ABS is practically undetectable, giving the riders the confidence to brake harder with less worry.

Finally, the 200 Duke comes with SuperMoto mode, which lets riders turn off the ABS in the rear tire to let it swing out and slide as desired.

The 2021 KTM 200 Duke is now available at a competitive introductory price of P159,000 in a choice of orange or white colors.
