Teach children about online safety

This GIF Learning Library provides a fun, creative way for parents to explain the importance of staying safe—even when you’re indoors

How can parents help their kids understand what it’s like to live through a pandemic?

These colorful GIFs, presented in colorful short animations, depicts stories about staying safe both in real life and in the online world.

Through this digital library called GIF Learning Library, young students will understand basic concepts of online safety, and help them and their parents cope with the new demands of online learning.

Child Rights Network and Stairway Foundation teamed up with Facebook to produce the library, which is available for viewing on their Facebook and Instagram highlights.

The storybooks combine colorful animations with easy-to-read text, and parents and children can also look forward to GIF quizzes and coloring books in the future.

The newly-released storybook titled “Kelly Kuneho” joins other GIF books such as “Sarado ang Mahiwagang Kaharian” and “Pwede Ba I-Click Ito?” These are also available in English, in the form of “Brenda Bunny” “Stuck in the Castle” and “Can I Click This?” These stories underscore the importance of why children should stay home in the meantime.

“As a mom to children in this digital age, I think it’s so important for us to be proactive in keeping our kids safe, both online and offline,” host Bianca Gonzales said during the launch of the new GIF book. “I believe these storybooks are a great way to introduce online safety and privacy to children, because the stories help them easily understand the concepts. I hope that with stories like Kelly Kuneho, we can encourage more parents to talk to their kids about online safety, as early as possible, in a fun and practical way.”
