‘Let’s go,’ says 2PM’s Nichkhun as he lands lead role in movie ‘Hong Kong Love Story’

K-pop boy band 2PM member Nichkhun has been cast in a lead role in the Hollywood film “Hong Kong Love Story,” his agency said.

“Hong Kong Love Story” is a romantic comedy to be directed by Keoni Waxman, who has helmed many films starring Steven Seagal.

Nichkhun will star in the film alongside Byron Mann, Dominika Kachlik and Kenneth Tsang. In the movie, Nichkhun and Mann are friends who belong to wealthy families. Their friendship is tested when a model to be played by Kachlik appears.

“Let’s go!!” posted Nichkhun on Instagram along with screenshots of a Korean news story about “Hong Kong Love Story.”

Mann’s acting credits include “Wu Assassins,” “Altered Carbon,” “The Big Short," "Arrow" and "Hell On Wheels" while Tsang has appeared hundreds of films such as “Die Another Day” “Memoirs of a Geisha” and “Rush Hour 2.”

Nichkhun starred in the 2018 film “Brother of the Year,” which became the second highest top grossing movie in Thailand in 2018. His other acting credits include the series “My Bubble Tea” and “Arthdal Chronicles.”

He won best actor in a supporting role for “Bubble Tea” as a national winner at the Asian Academy Creative Awards 2020 announced in October.

During an interview with Manila Bulletin Entertainment in 2018, Nichkhun said he wanted to do more acting projects.

“If I have the chance, I would love to but it depends on the scripts, the directors, whether I like the story or not. I would love to improve in that area, too,” he said.

The production for “Hong Kong Love Story” will start in December, according to JYP Entertainment, 2PM’s agency.
