Mister Global Philippines 2019 Ricky Gumera has admitted that he is still adjusting to the rigors of show business as he debuts in the drama film “Anak ng Macho Dancer” which will have its premiere sometime in December.

Challenging, markado, ” said Ricky during an interview in Makati City recently.

To prepare for the movie, the 5’11 star said that he attended an acting workshop under Ruby Ruiz (Best Actress, Cinemalaya).

Ricky, 21, said he could not believe he worked with award-winning stars Jaclyn Jose, Jay Manalo, and Emili Garcia.

“Masaya silang maka-trabaho at marami akong natutunan.

Joed Serrano, producer of the film under Godfather Productions, said that he plans to hold its premiere night at the University of the Philippines Film Center. “We want to show the uncut version.” The movie is directed by Joel Lamangan.

Born and raised to a poor family, Ricky finished BS Marine Transportation at Philippine Merchant Marine School in Las Pinas. He loves volleyball and enjoys ballroom dancing.

Ricky said that he belongs to a big family with 10 siblings. He grew up with his grandparents. Ricky also took odd jobs to survive. When he became a model, he was trained by  Meg Perez under the Mega Models Events and Talent Management.

“Marami pong nagpaparamdam before na gay pero nandiyan na po ‘yung tita-ninang ko na nasandalan ko before. Siya ang sumusuporta sa pag-aaral ko bukod sa scholarship ko,” he said.
