DPWH reports 90% completion of Southern Leyte town's road project
The Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) on Sunday reported that the 3-kilometer road concreting project in San Ricardo, Southern Leyte is nearing completion.

In a statement, the DPWH said the ongoing road project is now 90 percent complete citing the latest report from their Southern Leyte District Engineering Office.
The road project, which will traverse along the sections in Barangays Benit, Bil-atan, and Esperanza, will form part of the Lilolan-San Ricardo Circumferential.
Public Works and Highways Secretary Mark A. Villar said with the soon-to-be completed road concreting project, the movement of goods and services will soon have a significant improvement.
"Locals in the far-flung areas endure poor road network which restricts their economic activity," he said.
"We are hopeful that this project will help address the problem and provide them with more opportunities,” added Villar.
Costing P80 Million, the 2-lane road project aims to connect and improve the conditions of the local road in the southernmost tip of Panaon Island as it is one of the identified far-flung areas that require infrastructure support for its agriculture, trade, and tourism.
The road project also includes a drainage system and slope protection works as safety features.
