FAMOUS: Alex Diaz finds career blessing amid pandemic

Alex Diaz

From one successful project to another, after the BL serye “Oh Mando!,” Alex Diaz starts a suspense-horror project to be aired on TV5. Entitled “Carpool,” Alex shared in our interview that one challenge he faced in shooting the project is performing for every scene because he sees his co-actors as very good at what they do.

“Lahat kami naka trabaho na namin at least ang bawat isa sa isang project. I was approached for ‘Lucho’ and super thankful kami dahil unang-una sa lahat, I think this is a perfect role for me. Ang gagaling ng mga co-actors ko when I watch them on the set. I'm blown away,” Alex said.

A confessed fan of horror and suspense flicks, Alex said that acting in his favorite genre is a lot harder than he expected.

“Para sa akin I think the biggest challenge was paano mo ire-replicate ang primal fear ng buhay mo kapag nasa panganib? Tama ba ang Tagalog ko? How do you act out something na never mo pa naranasan sa buhay mo? Yung primal fear na mararanasan ng bawa't characters dito sa show namin. Another challenge was how do I condense the friendships dito sa series kasi relationships are very complicated things. Paano mo iko -ondense 'yun sa series namin,” he added.

Playing the wannabe rockstar “Lucho,” the promising actor said that he is thankful for Director Adolf Alix for taking care of his scenes.

“Hindi pa siya recognized as a rockstar he is starting pa lang pero nasa isip niya rock star na siya. I'm super thankful for the trust na binigay sa akin nila Direk Adolf… all the support,” Alex said.

“Carpool” is the newest suspense thriller series which tackles the lives of four young individuals - Sarah Carlos, Alex Diaz, Kate Lapuz, and Kenneth Medrano. The series starts with the four sharing a carpool ride together, that leads them to a whirlwind of tragedy and horrific hauntings that will continue to follow them. The mysteries of "Carpool" further unravel as a former classmate, portrayed by Elora Espano, is suspected to be behind the events that haunt the four passengers. What is mind boggling, though, is that the suspect that continues to torment them is already dead. Viewers can catch "Carpool" on TV5 starting Nov. 26 and will air every Thursday at 9:30 p.m.
