The Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) in Lanao del Norte said Friday that the turnover of farm machinery and equipment (FMEs) worth P250,000 to 142 member-agrarian reform beneficiaries (ARBs) of the Lumbac ARB Consumer Cooperative in Magsaysay will enhance their agricultural production and uplift their living conditions.

Chief Agrarian Reform Program Officer Lolita Omar noted that a memorandum  of agreement (MoA) and trust agreement and deed of donation were signed before the turnover of the farm machinery and equipment to the members of the cooperative last Nov. 24.

“The farm implements consist of a corn sheller, a rice pulverizer machine, a coco grater, and a coco presser that was provided under the Climate Resilient Farm Productivity Support Project (CRFPSP) of the department,” Omar said.

“The DAR’s CRFPS project is geared towards building resiliency for agrarian reform communities to enhance and sustain the agricultural productivity of the organizations as an adaptation measure towards farming mechanization as well as to support the organizations to increase their farm production, yield better income, and improve their lives,’’ the DAR said.

Ameroden Guinal, vice chairman of the cooperative,  thanked the DAR for the equipment.

“This will help our farmers increase their income," said Guinal.
