TACLOBAN CITY – Borongan City has stepped up its coronavirus disease (COVID-19) response efforts by adopting a QR code system that will facilitate faster and wider contact tracing, while enhancing the implementation of minimum health standard protocols in the capital city of Eastern Samar.
City Mayor Jose Ivan Dayan Agda has issued an executive order, requiring all business establishments, including government and private offices to avail of the QR scanners by sending an email request to [email protected].
They are required to send their establishment/office name, contact person, designation, and number for easier contact tracing as the number of COVID-19 cases continue to increase in Eastern Samar province.
Starting Monday, November 30, border controls, government and private offices, and all business establishments will be required to strictly adopt the QR code scanning.
QR scanning shall also be mandatory in passing through the borders of Borongan City, in going inside government and private offices, and when entering business establishments. All persons without their QR codes will not be allowed entry.
Agda reiterated that minimum health standard protocols should be observed at all times, such as the wearing of face masks and face shields and observance of social or physical distancing.
All business establishments and offices, whether government or private, were enjoined to strictly adopt the no face shield, no entry policy. All persons not wearing face shields will be denied entry.
All Category IV establishments except massage parlors shall be allowed to operate at a 60 percent maximum capacity.
Public safety hours of curfew shall take effect from 10:00 p.m. to 5 a.m., while drinking liquor in public places remains prohibited.
All tourism sites shall be allowed to operate.
