DAVAO CITY - The Department of Health (DOH) Davao Center for Health Development reported 70 new cases of coronavirus disease (COVID-19) in the region on Tuesday, bringing the total number of active cases to 2,513.
The DOH said the 70 cases were among the 1,009 persons who were tested. It said 45 were from Davao City, nine from Davao de Oro, seven from Davao del Norte, four from Davao del Sur, three from Davao Oriental, and two from Davao Occidental. Davao City has the most number of active cases with 2,004.
The DOH said three deaths in Davao City were also reported Tuesday bringing the total number of COVID-19 fatalities to 322.
Based on Davao Region's COVID-19 Weekly Situationer No. 22, Davao City's fatality rate is at 4.5 percent , while the region's fatality rate is 3.8 percent.
Meanwhile, 84 recoveries were also reported yesterday. The DOH said among these, 57 were from Davao City, 17 were from Davao del Norte, six from Davao del Sur, and two each from Davao de Oro and Davao Occidental.
The DOH also reported that there are currently 420 healthcare workers in the region admitted due to COVID-19. Data shows that as of November 23, a total of 1,252 healthcare workers were affected by COVID-19, 826 have recovered, while six have died.
