4 killed after 2 trucks collide, catch fire in Negros town


BACOLOD CITY - Four persons perished after two trucks caught fire following a collision in Barangay Sagua Banua, Valladolid, Negros Occidental early Tuesday, November 24.

Initially, police could only identify two of the four fatalities. They were brothers Wendel Larios, driver of one of the trucks, and Carlo Larios, helper.

Based on the traffic investigation report, the Larios brothers were coming from Dumaguete City, and were on their way to this city at around 12:15 a.m. when the accident occurred.

They were cruising along the highway when their truck crashed head-on to another truck travelling in the opposite direction.

According to the police, it was possible that the impact of the collision ignited the fuel tank of one of the trucks.

Police were still verifying to identify the two other fatalities, as of press time.
