Pasig LGU to set up one-stop shop for business permits, licenses at Ayala the 30th

The Pasig City government will establish a Business One Stop Shop (BOSS) office at a mall located near the city’s business district to reduce the number of people applying or renewing permits and licenses at the City Hall.

Mayor Vico Sotto said the BOSS office will be located at the Ayala the 30th in Barangay Ugong, and is targeted to be finished ahead of the renewal season of business permits and licenses in January next year.

Sotto said that by having a BOSS office away from city government offices would decrease the number of people at the City Hall amid the ongoing threat of the pandemic, and ensure that physical distancing will be maintained.

The mayor said the location of BOSS office is ideal as 34 percent of business and commercial establishments in the city are located in Barangays San Antonio and Ugong.

According to Sotto, the two neighboring villages are home to 9,575 out of around 28,000 registered businesses in Pasig. The Ortigas Center, the city’s central business district, is located in Barangay San Antonio.

“Ito ang pinaka malaking source ng pondo ng lokal na pamahalaan. Dito nanggagaling ang budget para sa iba't-ibang serbisyo ng LGU natin (It is the largest source of local government funding. This is where the budget for the various services of our LGU comes from),” he said.

“Kaya kailangan mag-invest din tayo para mapaganda ang proseso ng aplikasyon at renewal dito. Mas madali ang proseso, mas dadami at lalago ang mga negosyo sa Pasig (So we also need to invest to improve the application process and renewal here. If the process is easier, businesses in Pasig will grow),” he added.

The BOSS program aims to streamline the procedures for the issuance of local business licenses, clearances, permits or authorizations, and reduce the processing time for such documents.
